Feeling a bit Blah. well probably a lot blah.
But I still need to share some of the beautiful shops and places that I have been in the last couple of months..
Girly weekend in Byron and Bangalow NSW.
Road trip around the hinterland here on the Sunshine Coast.
Road trip to Imbil, Cooroy and Pomona on mothers day.
Family trip to Melbourne.
Byron was beautiful. I stayed with two of my besties at The Butter Factory, and we spent the weekend, walking, shopping, eating and maybe a few sneaky drinks at the Owl and the Pussycat.
I cannot rave enough about our lovely day at Bangalow - it was a short drive to this beautiful, small country town. Not only is it picturesque, the people were so warm and friendly - a lost art.
Island Luxe - Sam (one half of Island Luxe) could not have been kinder or more helpful. He decked out one of my friends in the coolest rockstar jeans ever! He was refreshingly honest and guided all of us to some beautiful purchases. He had the most amazing clothes and furniture… the shop was warm and had a cosy/homey feeling to it. We sat like old friends on one of his lounges and talked about his travels, he had all the time in the world and treated us like old friends!
Ate - not only does this place look good, the coffee is good, and the food is really good! The walls were perfectly decked out with gorgeous artwork…
Then we come back closer to home…. the ladies at Maleny Country Antiques were very kind and have impeccable taste and skills - I believe they restore some of the furniture they stock… they kindly allowed me to take some photos
and I have to leave it here for the moment…. to be continued!!

that's what i've been.
out of kilter.
out of whack.
out of sorts.
I've had loads of time off and I'm not quite sure what the hell I've been doing! sitting around eating chocolate - tick, some good cups of coffee - tick, hanging out with my family & gorgeous nephew - tick.
One thing I have done, I've taken up my crocheting again! I've made many motifs, a few pairs of jiffy's, and I'm maybe starting a blanket (it's a maybe because I know how hopeless I am, I'll probably change my mind in a few days time and start something else). See below for some pics.
I have a mismatch of stuff today… firstly, you gotta listen to this… it's uber cool. yes I said uber.
now for a few of the things I have been spying on the web….
Samantha Robinson ceramics… this chick is amazing, please check out her website.

Check out all the beautiful hand spun yarn at Pretty Twists.
We had a lovely morning tea at twig and grace… I bought some nanna slice, a latte and a gorgeous new wooden box.
and finally some pics of my stuff…
I've been enjoying making my own stamps with ezycarve.
and that's all I've got for the moment! I will endeavour to enjoy and be a little more productive for the last few remaining days of my holidays!
On a personal note, I just want to say I've thoroughly enjoyed spending Easter with my brother and his family, thank you gorgeous brother for travelling many many hours to be with us! You, your lovely wife, and my sweet nephew are so fun and such a pleasure to be around.
love love love

So, we finally stepped outside the comfort zone, packed up our goodies- whilst it was pitch black outside I might add- and headed off to the markets! Lots of excitement and a few nerves, we had no idea what to expect other than a considerable amount of bad weather according to the internet. But, we were remaining positive and determined to scare the rain demons away! 'Arrive promptly by six', the only instructions given to us, playing by the rules we arrived early and set-up by 6:20 - now we wait! It didn't take long before the shoes were off and jean legs rolled up, how do you empty your marquee of gigantic pools of water without saturating both yourself and your lovely craft items? According to 'Bruno' our friendly seasoned fruit and vege stall holder, it's all in the way you first set up, minor details that as 'newbies' we were yet to master. It was all shits and giggles at the start, taking turns to be drenched by emptying our sinking roof, not so much later we had it down to a fine art. It was becoming apparent that our surrounding friendly neighbours were going to keep the spirits cheered even if we weren't to sell anything, a lovely community vibe; perhaps Bruno took it a little further, but generally it was nice to have the chance to get to know some market locals. Tanya's first sale was early in the piece, a Kodak moment was had, and as Murphy would have it, I wasn't even present for mine, too busy sticky-beaking at any potential bargains I could purchase from other stall holders. We were quickly into the routine, visits from family and friends were a welcomed surprise, before we knew it, time was getting on. So of course by now being totally qualified and experienced stall holders it was time to pack up and go home (funny how it never takes as long as setting up). There was definite sense of satisfaction and achievement; little pieces of us were now on their way to new homes to be loved by others. It was exciting, a definite learning curve, but one we have embraced and are looking forward to doing all over again shortly (without the rain this time). Please enjoy 'our little stall at Peregian Markets'...drop by and say 'hi' sometime!
You can never have too many earings!
Sorry, the cupboard is not for sale - but you can have anything in it!
and of course... Isla's cute badges!
I don't like the beach. I lie. I do like it, but I don't like swimming in the ocean. I like walking along the beach, I like looking at the beach… and that's about it! My gorgeous sister talked me into it, I went swimming in the ocean for the first time all summer. And for the most part it wasn't too bad! But, like my mum always says "It's all fun and games, until someone gets hurt!"
waves + sand + me + hopelessness = skin off
yep, I'd like to say I was swimming out the back where the wild, massive waves were… buuuuuutttttt I was not. I was in one foot of water and I got bloody barrelled! Took skin off the side of my leg and bled for an hour! (i could be exaggerating a little, bled for like 10mins and scared all the kids).
I do love the beach, it was so fun hanging out with my kids and my sister and her tribe… we all loved collecting shells… which has inspired my collection of beautiful things today… sand, beach, shells….
I found this on darlingdextor.com you can buy from etsy at hearblackmarket.

Incy wincy spider freaks me out. I know I'm not alone.
so I'm driving along the motorway this morning with 3 kids in the back of the car… we have the tunes roaring, we are all singing along and enjoying a beautiful and exciting friday morning…. then simultaneously they all start screaming "spider spider SPIDER SPIDER SPIDER". My first thoughts are to jam the breaks on, exit the vehicle at my earliest convenience, save myself and bugger the kids. But I couldn't do that… so from what they were all screaming I could ascertain that it was pretty much behind me, and inside the car….. bugger, still thinking about my emergency exit without the children.
I am mother, I am woman hear me whimper, I mean ROAR. I can do this.
I stay calm and see that there is enough room on the side of the road for me to get out of my lane and stop the car…. within 1 minute of pulling over, I was out of the car, checked my hair, and unzipped my gorgeous gladiator sandle, located the spider and hit this spider 5 times. No death. It wedged it's way along the door and I couldn't get it. Regretfully, I lied to the kids and said that I had killed it and nothing to worry about, we're all fine… Jump back in the car and shit myself for the next 5 mins until we got to School….
My nerves got the better of me and I got out again, unzipped my sandle and went for round two…… I'm please to say that I won.
Spider dead.
Heart rate 200.
Adrenalin was soaring through me by this stage and I had started to get the shakes a little!
